For a trip to Europe

If you are going to Europe in a European Union/European Economic Area country, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, go to your ameli account and order your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to prove your rights in France and to benefit from the coverage of your medical care in France.

Please note! The United Kingdom is no longer part of the European Union since 31 January 2020; additional formalities must be completed.

For a departure outside Europe

If you are going abroad to a country outside the European Union/European Economic Area, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, or Quebec, you should be aware that the terms and conditions of coverage vary depending on whether or not you are receiving a salary (gratuity) and the amount of the latter. In addition, in some countries, medical expenses are costly, so it is advisable to take out an insurance policy that guarantees the reimbursement of medical costs incurred.
